QR codes at bus stops for real-time information

The Public Transport Administration (ATP) is further improving passenger information by gradually installing new signs featuring QR codes at bus stops throughout the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Within the next few weeks, almost all stops on the national network will be equipped with these QR codes, providing direct access to real-time information.

A simple, accessible solution with no download required

By scanning the QR Code displayed at the bus stop with their smartphone, passengers are taken directly to a page dedicated to that particular stop. There, they can view upcoming departures, up-to-date timetable information and any service disruptions. This practical and intuitive solution complents existing informations tools, including the mobiliteit.lu-app, with no download required.

The signs clearly display the stop name, the relevant platform and “Next departures”, alongside the QR code.

Coordinated rollout across the country

To ensure maximum visibility, the 20 × 20 cm signs are installed at eye level directly on bus stop poles, where technically feasible. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with Luxembourg’s municipalities, which are key partners in the rollout. To support the launch and encourage public use of the new system, the ATP will run a joint information campaign with the municipalities in the coming weeks.

By making up-to-date travel information directly accessible at bus stops, the ATP is continuing its efforts to provide passengers with information that is simpler, more accessible and better suited to their everyday needs.
